About Jason

"They have jobs. They have their own Amazon accounts. A phone call is a gift."

Born in February 1972, Jason is a business owner, entrepreneur and former real estate broker. After 18 years selling real estate in New Hampshire and Massachusetts, he helped to establish a commercial cleaning company with his wife Becka in 2016, joining her full time in 2018. Early life experiences molded Jason into an introvert at heart with strong trust issues. On the flip side, Jason is a driven and outgoing individual with no filter and the propensity to say and do outlandish things that tend to get him in plenty of hot water, especially with Becka. Because of these factors he’s usually a quiet, patient and calculating man, protective and loyal to a fault to those who earn his trust. Jason has buttons though. Buttons that, when pushed, make him quick to anger and relentless in protecting his emotional self. Nobody knows that better than Becka and she’s not afraid to pound on those buttons when she feels he’s out of line.
Previously married for 13 years with three children, Jason has been with Becka since 2008, marrying her in 2013. They’re now empty nesters with five grandchildren and counting. Jason enjoys creative ventures that allow him to expand his mind, traveling and playing guitar.

About Becka

"Thirty is not too old for a card with a twenty in it. It's never too old. Next question."

Born in September 1971, Becka is an entrepreneur, social media addict and business owner. Born in North Carolina, she moved to California at 15 with her family. She later moved to New Hampshire with her first husband and their 3 children, but the marriage ended after repeated infidelity. Around that same time she battled life altering health challenges and met Jason. In 2008, they began their life together ultimately tying the knot in 2013. In 2016, led by Becka’s intense drive to get her life back after her youngest graduated high school, she built her 2nd successful commercial cleaning company, mostly alone, until Jason left real estate in his rear view in 2018 and joined her. Fierce, feisty and quick to speak her mind, Becka has been through a lot and isn’t afraid to call things out to anyone that oversteps her personal limits, including Jason. As deep as her emotions flow when challenged, she’s equally fervent as a provider, protecting those she cares for. She’s deeply loyal and loving.
Becka loves decorating year round and hosting over-the-top holiday events. She and Jason share a passion for travel, exploring new business ventures and boating. Her no-nonsense, high-standard approach often sparks their most passionate debates.

The origin story

How we ended up here

Sorry I Rocked the Boat is a real marriage podcast hosted by a real couple who take on real issues. Now their 50s, Jason & Becka offer a mature point of view on these marital issues because they aren’t new to this, they have been through it. Each having been divorced and flat broke with small & teenaged children (3 each) when they met, they dealt with financial collapse, in-laws, exes, blending families and finding ways to endure through countless battles and differing priorities. Now that their kids are older and they are empty nesters, the drama hasn’t changed, only it’s origination has.
Each week, Jason and Becka take on one true to life marital topic and debate it head-on. Sometimes it’s lighthearted and funny, other times it gets passionate and intense. These aren’t scripted arguments, they’re the real conversations that stoke the emotions couples actually have every single day.
At the end of every episode, the hosts make their way to the Compromise Corner, where they try to find common ground. Then they hand it over to you, our shipmates and crew members to declare the victor and vote each week on who you feel made the stronger case. In episodes that follow, we recap the findings and read some of your feedback to better understand where your opinions fall.
So, if you’re married, divorced, dating, or just enjoy watching a real couple work through the same stuff you do, you’re in the right place.

New episodes drop every Tuesday. Voting opens with each new release for that release and will remain open for 6 days.
